N. Mitarakis: SYRIZA reproduces the propaganda about deportations of migrants at sea due to ideology

“For the umpteenth time, SYRIZA proposes its ideologies and not the national interest. Because it knows very well that past complaints about alleged deportations are thoroughly examined by the National Transparency Authority, as our country has independent mechanisms for investigating complaints,” he said. Minister of Immigration and Asylum, Notis Mitarakis, responding to an announcement by SYRIZA-PS regarding reports on the repatriation of refugees and immigrants.

Mr. Mitarakis also underlines: “In fact, in my announcement yesterday I reiterated that the authors of various reports, when called upon to present concrete evidence, never cooperated with the competent authorities. Unfortunately, SYRIZA reproduces propaganda to the detriment of the country. “It clearly reflects the” open border “policy it pursued during its rule, forgetting the disastrous effects on local communities on both the islands and mainland Greece and in the major urban centers.”

“The government will continue with determination to protect the borders of Greece and the European Union, with respect for International and European Law”, concludes Mr. Mitarakis.
