N. Papathanasis: The new development law, which facilitates entrepreneurship, is emblematic and essential

“This development law is emblematic, it provides the good and capable conditions, but also all the tools to the business community, so that it can quickly start an investment activity,” said Deputy Minister of Development and Investment Nikos Papathanasis at the end of his discussion. of the bill in the plenary session of the Parliament.

The Deputy Minister stressed that “from 2019 we are working to bring development to the country, and what differentiates us from the opposition, is that we want an open society, where every citizen can operate without suffering from state, and thus create new jobs “.

The development law that you are called to vote on today, said Mr. Papathanasis, “has started a year and a half ago and has gone exhaustively through the consultation processes with all stakeholders, the social partners, the chambers and is ‘well worked'”. He stressed that “we have gone into the depths and the essence” to help entrepreneurship “.

In these two and a half years, said the Deputy Minister, “we have built a wall of trust with the private sector, always under the supervision of the State, so as to facilitate the whole start of business. We believe that the State should have the executive role. “That’s why, through a series of pieces of legislation, we have simplified the procedures, with the result that today, 80% of the steps of starting a business are done automatically and only 20% need approval procedures and decisions.”

The Deputy Minister also stated that we can not operate with the rates of investment that the SYRIZA-ANEL government had. The people have voted for us to create a pro-investment environment and for investments to come to our country. And right now, you see that all the “champions” of technology are “buying Greece” because they see in front of them a serious government. We, he stressed, do not hide from the investors as some of the SYRIZA ministers did, who did not even see the auction documents. Mr. Papathanasis, noted that the law 4399 of SYRIZA had pathogens and was “a little lazy for the challenges of the time”, as essentially “it was a bucket, which practically means that all sectors entered there, resulting in sectors such as tourism, to absorb the larger part unequally, or one Region to receive larger amounts than the other and the small and medium enterprises to enter inside together with the large ones “. We said, today “we separate the productive sectors, the amounts that are for the Regions, we separate the amounts for small and medium-sized enterprises from the large ones”.

Regarding the provisions of the development bill for Thrace, he said that “there have never been such provisions for Thrace” and reminded that this was a commitment of the prime minister “.

This development law, he underlined, has as its axes exactly what the world community says and wants. “We do not discover the wheel” and we created all aspects and sectors, he noted.
