Naftali Bennett is the new Prime Minister of Israel

The Israeli Parliament tonight gave a vote of confidence in the government of the new prime minister Naftali Bennett, who succeeds Netanyahu who has been in power for 12 years.

Of the 119 deputies present (in the 120-member parliament), 60 voted in favor of the new coalition, which includes the right, the left and also supports an Arab party.

Fifty-nine lawmakers, mostly from Netanyahu’s Likud party, the far-right and pro-Orthodox parties, voted against.
