Armenian residents of the capital of its breakaway Azeri enclave Nagorno-Karabakh were loading their belongings into buses and trucks today as they were leaving for Armenia, said a Reuters reporter who was an eyewitness.
Dozens of people, many with children and luggage, were queuing to board buses, the reporter added. The Armenian leadership of the enclave, belonging to Azerbaijanannounced today that all those who wish to leave for Armenia, after last week’s Azeri military operation, will have the opportunity to do so, as reported by APE-MPE.
The Republic of Artsakh, as the Armenians call Nagorno-Karabakh, announced that there are traffic jams on the roads leading from Karabakh to Armenia. The Armenian Karabakh authorities have announced that free fuel will be given to all those who wish to leave. Meanwhile, in Yerevan, its capital of Armeniapolice said they arrested at least 142 people today during anti-government protests, Russian news agency TASS reported, citing a statement from the Armenian Interior Ministry.
