Singer Nana Caymmi, 83, was admitted to the Casa de Saúde de São José, in the south zone of Rio, again on the evening of last Monday (26). She had undergone a cardiac catheterization the previous week and was discharged from the institution last Thursday (22).
According to the hospital in a statement to CNN the singer returned to the institution for “a pacemaker adjustment and is being medicated.”
The artist had already been admitted to the hospital with a cardiac arrhythmia on July 26. After having a pacemaker fitted, she was discharged on August 13.
Nana Caymmi began her artistic career in the 1960s and became one of the greatest artists on the Brazilian music scene, with hits such as ‘Resposta ao tempo’, ‘Não se esqueci de mim’ and ‘Suave Veneno’.
