NASA has published the most detailed panorama of Mars: Perseverance took 1118 frames and glued them into one photo

A few days ago, on September 14, the American space agency NASA published a rather interesting panoramic image of Mars taken by the Perseverance rover. It is worth noting that to create the most detailed photograph of Mars, the Mastcam-Z camera system was used, which took 1118 separate frames, after which all the mosaic elements were combined into one single image of the planet’s landscape. The best thing about the news is that this image is in the public domain – the full resolution is 93761×26305 pixels with a photo weight of 3.85 GB. This means that on some computers, opening the snapshot will simply not work.

Those who are interested in Mars and hope to go to colonize it in the near future are offered to look at various sedimentary rocks, which, although they look rather boring, are of extraordinary value to scientists from all over the world. The fact is that some time ago it was discovered that some rocks on Mars are of organic origin – this means that there was once life there, which died under the pressure of various factors, leaving behind corresponding traces in rocks and sedimentary rocks. This means that the published panorama allows you to look at the place where extraterrestrial life once was.
