NASA plans railways on the Moon for the “new conquest” of space

NASA plans to build railways on the Moon in the coming years, as the US and the countries that signed the “Artemis” agreements plan to mine the Moon. According to a report in the New York Post, the space agency plans to build a “flexible orbital lift,” a system that would allow minerals to be transported without the need for human intervention. Specifically, the space trains will use non-powered magnetically polarized robots to hover over a three-layer track made of flexible membranes. A layer of graphite will keep them afloat, and a layer of flex-circuit will generate electromagnetic thrust to propel the robots along the tracks in a controlled manner.
