NASA’s OSIRIS-REX spacecraft is bowing to Earth

The last spacecraft to orbit the asteroid Benoit, from which it is slowly moving away, slowly putting a “bow” on Earth, was made by the spacecraft OSIRIS-Rex of the US Space Agency (NASA).

The operators of the boat will wait a few more days, until they are sure how the boat changed its surface asteroid, when he collected a sample of it last October, as AMPE explains.

During its last voyage, the boat photographed Benoit for almost six hours, flying 3.5 kilometers from him. To send all this latest data and images to Earth, will pass a few days, until April 14.

Benoit today is about 298 million kilometers from Earth. The boat will remain in its “neighborhood” until May 10, when will start his engines to begin his two-year return journey, aiming to deliver his valuable specimen to American scientists in September 2023.
