Nashville Explosion : Possible Human Remains Found on Site

The early morning Nashville explosion on Christmas day rattled the community. Initially it was reported that the explosion had caused no casualties. In a turn of events, however, police have found what are possibly human remains on the site of the explosion.

Nashville Explosion

The incident took place early morning on Christmas day. Residents of downtown Nashville woke up to the sounds of gunshots. Then a white colored RV parked on Second Avenue started giving out a warning to the people to clear the area.

Residents heard what they believe to be an automated female voice, telling the residents to evacuate the area if they were hearing the voice. The recreational van soon exploded, damaging buildings and injuring 3 people.

Cars caught fire, trees fell and broken glass from windows of nearby buildings filled the area. The explosion occurred outside an AT&T building, which is the parent company of CNN.

The Nashville police was investigating the fire shots early in the morning when they heard the automated message playing inside the van. The police immediately moved people away from the Rv. The voice had reportedly given a 15 minute warning and had started a count down leading to the explosion.

Injuries and Casualties

Initially no casualties were reported as a result of the blast. 3 people sustained injuries and were hospitalized. One police officer suffered loss of hearing which the police hopes is temporary and another officer was knocked down due to the explosion. It was uncertain whether or not someone was present inside the van.

However, the police have now found tissues on the explosion site, which they believe are human remains. Charge Matt Foster, a special FBI agent stated that they would find the culprits behind the attack. Governor of Tennessee Bill Lee said they would provide all the resources required to carry out the investigations.

Law enforcements stated that they had no prior information of any threats in the Nashville area. According to Mayor John Cooper around 40 businesses had been effected as a result of the blast. He thanked the police for responding quickly and saving people.

No motivation behind this attack has been specified yet. Several people were bought in for investigation but no further information has been provided.
