Well-known American economist and trader Nassim Taleb criticized bitcoin, calling it “the perfect game for suckers” during periods of low interest rates.
Nassim Taleb, best-selling author of The Black Swan, once again criticized bitcoin. He stated that the first cryptocurrency does not insure investors against inflation and is not a hedge fund. In addition, according to Taleb, bitcoin does not protect its owners from geopolitical events. “This is the perfect game for suckers,” he said.
This is not the first time that Taleb has been highly critical of both the cryptocurrency itself and the people who use it. So, in July last year, he said that bitcoin “attracts only idiots.” In the middle of last year, Taleb, along with economist Nouriel Roubini, said that cryptocurrencies do not carry any value for data storage, unlike blockchain.
Note that in 2019, Taleb argued that bitcoin noticeably wins in comparison with state currencies and advised Lebanese citizens to use crypto assets.
