National Bank: Reinforcement of earthquake victims in Arkalochori, Crete

The National Bank allocated 200 table kitchens to support the victims of Arkalochori, the Municipality of Minoa Plain of Crete, who suffered significant damage from the catastrophic earthquake of September.

During a recent trip made by the Management of Ethniki to Crete, the General Manager of the Bank, Christina Theofilidi, visited Arkalochori and witnessed up close the destruction experienced by most families in the area.

The National Administration, expressing the will to help these families, discussed the ways that could contribute to the relief of the earthquake victims during this difficult period. In this context, it was decided, following a proposal by the Mayor of Minoa Pediada, Manolis Fraggakis, to cover the need for the supply of household equipment to the victims.

On Saturday, November 20, the National Bank handed over to the Municipality of Minoa Pediada 200 household appliances for the affected residents. The delivery was made by the Regional Director of Crete of the National Bank George Perakis, in a special event organized by Mayor M. Fraggakis.

The General Manager of Retail Banking Christina Theofilidi stated regarding the reinforcement and support of the earthquake victims of Arkalochori: “The National Bank maintains a branch in Arkalochori and consistently and steadily serves the residents and small businesses of the area. the smooth operation of the store immediately, despite the damage it initially suffered and was found close to the residents from the first moment.

Our National Bank has been proving for 180 years that a large organization can understand the human need and take immediate initiatives to meet it. We did this once again, with the aim of relieving the residents of Arkalochori who are suffering after the disasters caused by the recent earthquakes.
