National Book Day: subway stations distribute books this Tuesday (29)

THE National Book Day is celebrated this Tuesday (29), and, to celebrate the date, the stations and terminals of São Paulo Metropolitan Transport will host an event donation of more than 700 books .

The action is the result of a partnership between Secretariat of Metropolitan Transport and the House-Museum Network institutions linked to the State Department of Culture, Economy and Creative Industry.

Between 11am and 1pm, passengers will be able to win free books at the following locations:

  • CPTM Palmeiras-Barra Funda Station
    • Date : October 29
    • Time : 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
    • Address : Rua Bento Teobaldo Ferraz, 119 – Barra Funda, São Paulo – SP
  • EMTU Jabaquara Terminal
    • Date : October 29
    • Time : 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
    • Address : Rua Nelson Fernandes, s/n – Jabaquara – São Paulo – SP

200 copies will be distributed at each of these donation points, in addition to more than 300 books that will replenish shelves and shelves at 26 CPTM stations and nine EMTU VLT terminals and stations.

All books are new and were published with the support of the Rede de Museus-Casas, which includes Casa das Rosas, Casa Guilherme de Almeida and Casa Mário de Andrade.

National Book Day honors the National Library of Brazil, which was founded on October 29, 1810, marking an important date in the country’s literary history.

In addition to celebrating reading, the partnership between the Secretariat of Metropolitan Transport and the Network of Museums-Houses seeks to promote access to culture and literature for citizens who use public transport in São Paulo.
