An occurrence in the morning led to the electrical separation of the North and Northeast from the South and Southeast regions, with the opening of interconnections between these regions. According to the National Electric System Operator (ONS), at least 16,000 megawatts (MW) of energy were interrupted, mainly affecting the North and Northeast regions, as well as some locations in other regions of the country.
