According to a study by the Glassdoor website, in fact, in the United States 50% of internship programs were canceled in the spring of 2020, a figure no different from that confirmed by the International Labor Organization in collaboration with the European Commission, according to which 6 trainees on 10 (58%) had their training period interrupted in the company in times of pandemic.
And so it is for Italy: in October 2020, in fact, according to data provided by the Ministry of Labor, extra-curricular internships, paid and carried out outside the school curriculum, fell by 48%, going from 185 thousand to just over 96 thousand.
However, these interruptions and reductions have always pushed the youngest to work on their personal growth, perfecting training, trying to improve in those areas neglected by schools, but important in the workplace: the famous soft skill, those transversal skills that are essential in the office, from communication skills to inventiveness.
