The national secretary of Public Security, Tadeu Alencar, will go to Rio Grande do Norte this Friday (17th) to monitor the actions of the security forces against acts of violence in the capital Natal and other municipalities in the state.
Despite the deployment of more than 200 police from the National Force, the state continues to suffer from attacks by criminals. This is the third day in a row that factions in Potiguar territory set cars, businesses and public buildings on fire. There were also shots at a town hall.
The federal government has acted to prevent violent attacks from spreading to other states. Members of the Ministry of Justice, with whom the CNN talked to, claim that the attacks test the management of the new government and serve as a warning to reinforce intelligence actions.
In addition to the presence of the National Force, there was also the transfer of prisoners who participated in the acts to federal penitentiaries. New prison changes are planned, according to sources at the Ministry of Justice.
Also this Wednesday, a faction leader was removed from the Alcaçuz penitentiary to the Federal Penitentiary System.
