Native WhatsApp for Windows promises to be faster than the web version

WhatsApp has announced that it is developing native versions of the messaging app for Windows and Mac, which promise to be “faster and more reliable”. Recently, WhatsApp Web has been criticized by users for slowness and other problems such as message loading.

Since January of this year, constant updates have been made to the internet version of the messenger. Complaints became more frequent from April onwards, with the company acknowledging the problems with message loading and saying it was working on improvements.

According to the company’s statement, the new apps will be designed and optimized for the computer’s operating system. They will also receive notifications and messages even if their cell phone is not connected.

You can download the Windows app from the Microsoft Store. After downloading, just follow the normal connection process, as was done in the web version — “more options” on Android devices, or “settings” on iPhone devices > connected devices > scan the QR code.

The company said that the native app for Mac systems is still in the development phase.

other news

WhatsApp recently announced that two new features will be launched in August for all users: it will be possible to choose who sees the indication that you are “online” and to leave groups without notifying everyone (the famous “guy left the group” ).

A tool is also being developed to lock screen capture in single view messages. There is no provision for this to be available.

In addition, there are “small communities”, a tool that aims to unite and organize people around a common place or interest.

The big difference from the existing groups is that the communities will unite several of these groups in the same space. The company has committed to making these “megagroups” available in Brazil only after the 2022 elections.
