NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg has called on the West to provide more modern weapons to Ukraine, according to Bloomberg.
“In the long run, Ukraine can not only defend itself with weapons dating back to the Soviet era, but must turn to modern Western weapons,” Stoltenberg told Welt am Sonntag. “The West must intensify its traditions,” he said, adding that Ukraine must prepare for “a long war.”
NATO is determined to help Ukraine as long as Putin continues the war, even if it takes months or years. At the same time, Secretary-General Stoltenberg wants to do “everything” to prevent the conflict from spreading. Germany must play a central role, he said.
It is noted that President Joe Biden announced the last tranche of US military aid to Ukraine amounting to $ 150 million.
