NATO: The focus of a conference of commanders of Special Operations forces is the planning of military actions

Conference of commanders of Special Operations forces NATO was organized, from September 20 to 22, by the Special Warfare Command (SWC) of GEETHA in collaboration with NATO Special Operations Headquarters (NSHQ).

The specific conference was attended by all the commanders of the Alliance’s Special Forces-Special Operations Forces, as well as delegates from the Alliance’s member states and partners.

According to the relevant announcement, according to the Athens News Agency, the purpose of the conference was to promote efforts to coordinate, plan, modernize and conduct military actions, as well as to exchange views on issues related to the strategic environment, to increase cooperation and to achieve the interoperability of Special Forces-Special Operations Forces.

The opening of the conference was announced by the head of the General Defense Forces, General Konstantinos Floros, who referred to the current configuration of the defense and security environment, highlighting the added value of the Special Forces-Special Operations Forces as power multipliers, emphasizing the qualitative characteristics of their capabilities, as and to the significant advantages and the multitude of options that they provide to political leaderships in peace, in times of crisis, but also during war in Ukraine.

He also underlined the complexity that characterizes the security architecture of the Euro-Atlantic area, especially after the Russian invasion of Ukraine and added that today, more than ever, this calls for the strengthening of cooperation and the consolidation of the Alliance’s deterrent capacity to deal with modern threats and of revisionism, preserving the common values ​​of democracy, international law and good neighborly relations.
