The Brazilian Navy rescued an injured man on a ship off the coast of Angra dos Reis, in Rio de Janeiro, this Friday (27).
The crew member of the Tanker “Elba Leblon”, flying the Liberian flag, was rescued with a head injury. The victim was transported by helicopter to Jacarepaguá airport, in the west of the capital of Rio de Janeiro.
“The Naval Force maintains ready-to-use ships and aircraft, trained military personnel for rescue situations and a complex structure for collecting and sharing information,” stated the Navy in a note to CNN .
According to agents from the defense agency, the aircraft landed inside the Tanker and the man, who has not yet been identified, remained stable throughout the journey.
THE CNN contacted the Liberian Embassy in Brazil, but did not receive responses until the publication of this article.
