Nayib Bukele: El Salvador Invests Profit From BTC Operations In School Construction

El Salvador’s President Nayyib Bukele said that the profits made by the government from the purchase of bitcoin will be used to build 20 schools and a veterinary clinic.

About it
reported tweeted the administration of President Nayib Bukele. The construction of modern and fully equipped schools will make a significant contribution to the development of the country’s educational infrastructure. In addition, it will create additional jobs for Salvadorans, and their work will be adequately paid.

Bukele reminded that the profit received from operations with bitcoin will benefit not only children, but also animals. In the future, the turn may reach other categories of the country’s population.

This became possible due to the fact that the government did not pay attention to criticism of the opposition, which opposed the legalization of bitcoin, mining and purchases of BTC by the Salvadoran authorities. Earlier, citizens of the country went on strike against payments in bitcoins, fearing that due to the excessive volatility of cryptocurrencies, they could lose money. However, the president said that the bill was carefully studied by lawmakers before recognizing bitcoin as legal tender.

El Salvador’s authorities are also striving to make Bitcoin mining more environmentally friendly. In October, the first bitcoins were mined in El Salvador from a state-owned 95 MW mining farm that uses the geothermal energy of the volcano.
