The 2024 Olympics and Paralympic Games cost nearly six billion euros in the French State, much of which was allocated to the security of the Games, the Court of Auditors announced today in “a first assessment”. The Court of Auditors calculated “the costs of the event at 2.77 billion euros”, of which 1.4 billion was set for security, while € 3.19 billion was dedicated to infrastructure. “There is really no issue of war,” the first chairman of the Court of Auditors Pierre Moscovici assured during a press conference. But we had to “find the truth about prices” quickly, mainly because of the situation in which France’s public finances are currently and because of the preparation for the 2030 winter Olympics.
