It approaches, but does not test the psychological limit of 900 points. This is the picture of the first session of the new year on the Athens Stock Exchange, which, although it has a lot of support from its securities, does not increase its exposure to the risk of 900 points.
In particular, the General Index records gains of 0.53% at 898.06 points, while the turnover is at 11.6 million euros and the volume at 8.3 million units. The FTSE 25 also recorded an increase of 0.54%, to 2,160.44 points, while the banking index gained 0.44% to 577.44 points.
The market can not take the step and recover the limit of 900 units (according to its image so far), after two weeks, as everything shows it wants to have a better picture of the course of the pandemic in our country, after and the festive break, and of course if it entails new measures to restrict economic activity. In the negative scenario a pullback should be taken for granted, while in the positive scenario we will again see the highs of the last month in the market. The debate that is developing has to do with conducting more tests, due to the greater transmissibility of the new mutation…
Until the picture is clear, which is expected by the end of the week, the most likely scenario is to extend the sideways movement between 885 – 900 units. The level of 905 points, which is the make or break level, will remain, especially in a weekly chart, while on the contrary, the break of the near support of 886 points can lead again to the zone of 865-870 points.
According to Fast Finance, at the level of high capitalization index, the 2,175 units are now a stop in both daily and weekly charts. The 2,128 units close support. In the banking index the 570 units are our close support and in any case the 550 units the main one.
On the board
On the board now, Aegean records gains of 2.39%, with Ellactor, IPTO, OPAP, Jumbo, Eurobank, Titan, Lambda and OTE following with an increase of more than 1%. PPA, Hellenic Petroleum, Mytilineos, GEK Terna, Piraeus, Alpha Bank, Motor Oil, Yochalko and PPC are moving slightly upwards.
On the other hand, Sarantis loses 1.24%, with Coca Cola, Terna Energy, EYDAP, Ethniki and Quest recording a slight decline.
