She explains that in this moment of emergency it is very important for the population to mobilize, but that we must think about how to transform this mobilization into a long-term commitment to help these people, so that it is not momentary.
“The refugee situation exists all over the world, and every country that receives people has to think about how to include them in society.” She explains that refugees must be supported by the country’s health system, education, included in the job market.
Setubal also emphasizes that Brazilians who show solidarity with Ukrainians should rethink the situation of refugees here in Brazil. “Does our society include these people?”
