The CNN Specialist in social inclusion, Neca Setubal, spoke this Thursday (9) about the conditions of home in Brazil and how private companies have acted to help outlying communities, especially during the coronavirus pandemic.
Neca praised the partnership of companies with the government, universities and local communities to implement solutions considered innovative in the areas of housing and basic sanitation. This is the case of the Housingpact alliance, which brings together a series of entities and startups aimed at serving needy communities.
Among the highlighted examples are the construction of modular bathrooms and the separation of workspaces from the domestic space within the house, as well as complete renovations in homes.
“Another aspect to be highlighted is that they [as empresas] use local labor, helping to make these people employable. These examples and many others seek to show the private investor that he can invest in social goods and have positive returns,” he said.
