In an interview with CNN the chief of police in Rio Grande do Sul, Fernando Sodré, said that Nego Di and his partner, Anderson Bonetti, plotted to harm the 370 victims in the virtual fraud case.
“The video reinforces all the evidence we have in the investigation. There is no doubt, on the part of the Civil Police, that there was a criminal collusion to harm the victims,” said the delegate.
Influencer Dilson Alves da Silva Neto, known as Nego Di, was arrested last Sunday (14) in an action by the Civil Police of Santa Catarina in a beach house in Jurerê Internacional.
The recording mentioned by the delegate is from a podcast in which the comedian says that he “launched a promotion” for air conditioning, in addition to stating that the store was his.
He also comments on the origin of the products, and says that if they are not delivered it is because “user not found”, that is, because the store has not found the recipient. Watch the video:
“It is very clear that he was aware and had knowledge. In fact, the other evidence demonstrates this union and agreement between them and that ended up harming countless victims,” added Sodré.
New victims may emerge
The police chief also said that the number of people harmed is likely to be higher. He explained that because of the publicity of the case, many people who were unaware that they had been harmed are likely to contact the police for information.
The first phase of the investigation was concluded in 2023 with the indictment and arrest warrant for Nego Di and Bonetti, who remains at large.
In this new moment, however, the delegate does not rule out new people involved in the scheme.
“New victims and people may emerge… new circumstances may arise and some type of crime may emerge. If other crimes and other people are involved, which is possible, we may have other developments,” he added.
The police chief also explains that the prices of the goods below market prices attracted many people, who ended up believing in the extraordinary conditions. He warns that when the price of a product is disproportionate to market practice, people should pay attention to something behind the offer.
