The negotiations between Russia and Ukraine for a ceasefire in the war and the work of the Brazilian Air Force to rescue Brazilians are among the highlights of the night of this Thursday, March 3, 2022.
Negotiations between Russia and Ukraine
The second round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine ended with progress towards the establishment of humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of civilians from war-torn regions. Delegations also agreed to hold a third round of negotiations.
Zelensky speech
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin was the only way to end the war. Zelensky also appealed to other countries to increase support for Ukrainians with sanctions on Russia.
Putin also spoke
Already Vladimir Putin returned to use the argument of “denazification”, when talking about the attacks against the Ukrainians. Russia’s president said Russian soldiers do what they can to ensure there are no casualties. Regarding the attacks, Putin said that everything is going as expected.
Brazilian rescue
The first plane of the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) that will rescue Brazilians who were in Ukraine will take off next Monday (7). The FAB has already prepared the flight plan towards Poland, the main escape route for Brazilians who are in conflict regions.
Maintenance of the Electoral Fund
The Federal Supreme Court (STF) formed a majority to maintain an electoral fund in the amount of R$ 4.9 billion. With the decision, campaign financing will reach a record value this year. Before passing through the STF, the amount was approved by the National Congress and sanctioned by President Jair Bolsonaro (PL).
