Nelson Mandela’s grandson says ‘long life to Hamas’ during a speech in Yemen

Nelson Mandela’s grandson, Mandla Mandela, spoke at a conference in the Sanaan capital on Saturday (22), leading the audience in Hamas support chants and his allies supported by Iran.

“Live Hamas, Live Hezbollah, Live. Live Ansa Allah, Live. Live the immortal spirit of the Yemeni people, alive,” Mandela exclaimed, while the audience was echoing songs in support of the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah and the Houthis of Yemen.

Mandela, who became Islam in 2015, has long advised the Palestinian cause.

The conversion would be an influence of his grandfather Nelson, whose struggle of the African National Congress (CNA), against the white minority government that led to South Africa’s post-apartheid election in 1994, was supported by the then Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, from the Palestine Liberation Organization.

Israel contested comparison with apartheid as a lie motivated by anti-Semitism, but many South Africans follow Mandela’s leadership.
