Neoline T26 review: electric scooter for both children and adults

Electric scooter today no longer surprise anyone. Moreover, now that the first euphoria has passed, it becomes clear who really needs them, and who is ready to get by on rent for a short stay.

One thing is for sure: today they have turned from entertainment into a full-fledged transport.

I figure out how to live with the T26 model from Neoline.

Acquaintance

Minimalism and rigor

I’m afraid to imagine as soon as the designers of electric scooters do not go out of their way to come up with something catchy. Neoline should be given credit for choosing the concept of “design without wires”. That is, all the wires are hidden in the steering rack. This visually lightens the view, making it more neat. Another nice touch in the visual style can be called the blue edging of the wheels. As they say, a trifle, but nice.

Of the necessary safety elements (rider in the first place): a lamp with adjustable glow direction in front and a brake light in the back. They are turned on manually on the steering wheel. I will also note not the most obvious, but important point – metal protection on the bottom, so you don’t have to worry about the battery.

The wheels of the T26 are inflated, tubeless (tubeless, not cast) 10.5 inches. In general, the standard size for scooters in this class. The motor is built into the rear wheel and the manufacturer claims 350 watts of power.

The scooter has one brake handle, a drum brake on a cable in front, and an electronic one in the back. The rear brake engages almost as soon as you release the accelerator.

The steering wheel is modular, the handles are removed from it, so that it can be stored in a slightly more compact form. On the left is the brake lever, on the right is a small trigger – this is gas. A rather non-standard option, I will return to the question of choosing just such a solution. There is also a display on the steering wheel, it has everything you need: speed, ride distance, total mileage and battery life (in divisions). There is also an indicator for turning on the light and the selected motor power mode.

The bell, over time, hung upside down, as in the position as in the photo it periodically touched the thumb

Well, at the end of the acquaintance, I will mention the folding mechanism. The main thing is that the T26 folds and unfolds quickly. How to adapt, in general at the moment. It is simple, but has a safety catch to prevent accidental pressing of the release lever of the mechanism. The only thing is, the fuse is plastic and tends to hang out if the road is really bad. But still, without pressing the lever, the scooter will not add up. The folded steering rack is fixed on the wing of the rear wheel with a side hook. Everything is simple.

In general, the unit looks strictly, neatly and inspires confidence. It’s time to try it out dynamically.

Loaded up and went

Fast and very long

A full charge takes about 7 hours, so with active use it is easier to put it on charge at night. Connector in the deck under the rubber plug.

The first thing you will feel when you are about to ride a scooter is its weight. Almost 14 kilograms. This weight is below average for such devices.

If you look at the T26 from the side, you can see that the front part is higher than the rear, which allows you to more confidently transport it along curbs, just like driving into them. Clearance – 14 centimeters. In general, this unbanal geometry is one of the main advantages of the Neoline line. What is important in conditions of not the most smooth roads. Here we must take into account that the center of gravity has shifted higher, which affects its maneuverability. You will notice this only when comparing in parallel with models with a different geometry. Stability is also affected by the tire width of 2.8 inches and, of course, rear-wheel drive.

Back to the steering wheel. The grips are comfortable, although they can feel a little stiff on long rides. The screen is a bit lacking in brightness, which is mostly felt during the day. My main question is about the accelerator lever. It is not large, which eliminates accidental grazing, but it is more difficult to position it.

The T26 has no shock absorbers, so all the mitigation of road bumps falls on the wheels. If necessary, the wheels can be lowered. I will immediately mention the dynamic abilities of the T26. Like any scooter, they directly depend on the weight of the rider. My 62 kilograms are the most pleasant for him and I did not notice any difficulties even when starting up a small hill.

The motor has three power modes. 1st – 12 km/h, 2nd – 21 km/h and 3rd – 32 km/h. All this was on a flat asphalt surface.

Well, about the power reserve. The manufacturer claims about 40 kilometers. For one trip, I did not succeed in completely discharging the battery. The question is not so much in the power reserve, but in the fact that more than 25 kilometers on a scooter I don’t know where to go. As a result, with a relatively calm ride, I drove 23 kilometers and there was one more charge division left.

Brakes. Neoline T26 has two of them: drum in front, electric in back. If you release the gas trigger, the scooter will start to slow down, but there is no recovery (charging the battery from braking) here. Pressing the brake lever activates both brakes. Most importantly, they do it confidently and without any complaints.

We could end here, but… Neoline has the Neoline E-Scooter app. What for? One scenario is to mount your smartphone on the steering wheel and look at the speedometer (although you will most likely be looking at the maps). Of the usefulness: blocking via Bluetooth (turns off the motor), child restraint mode and the ability to start from a place (without a starting push).

Review

Everything is in good balance

It would seem, what can surprise and please an electric scooter today? And there it is: good build quality (fitting of parts, protection of the battery pack, folding mechanism without backlash), competent ergonomics (wide deck, frame geometry, simplicity of the folding mechanism) and a pleasant appearance. Adds pluses and excellent cross-country ability, even a mechanical bell is included. It is also worth mentioning the wide mudguards that keep the wearer clean and waterproof the battery pack.

Add to this the comfort of the deck itself, about 14 cm wide and almost 50 cm long. A metal battery cover at the bottom and a footrest that, when folded, does not eat away the ground clearance.

It remains to be recalled that at pedestrian crossings, according to the rules, you must dismount, and do not ride on the roadway. Well, wish you a good road!

Pros:

  • increased permeability;
  • good brake system;
  • build quality and materials;
  • thoughtful design.

Minuses:

  • no depreciation.

May not like:

  • ergonomics of management;
  • not very bright display.
