Nephew travels with his aunt to Europe to meet his cousin after more than 30 years

A movie-worthy story. The young Jean Vasconcelos and his aunt, affectionately called by him “Dona Neide”, can say that they are living a moment that could certainly be happening on the big screen.

The man from Ceará and his aunt are on a trip to Europe to find the daughter that Neide gave up for adoption more than 30 years ago, after going through difficulties.

In a post that went viral on Twitter, Jean says that her aunt decided to give her daughter, then one year old, up for adoption. The baby ended up being adopted by a French couple.

After 31 years, the nephew decided to look for his relative on the internet after seeing his aunt’s suffering with the adoption of her daughter.

Jean narrates that the search began through social networks, searching for the first name of the cousin and the family’s last name, “Caraúba”, of indigenous origin and the own words of the cearense, “very characteristic”.

During the search, Jean found a French woman who used the French name chosen by her adoptive parents on social media, and the Brazilian name, given by Dona Neide, in parentheses.

At that moment, Jean was sure she had found her cousin. He started to like all her photos, found other relatives of the adoptive family and even sent photos of his aunt with her baby daughter.

The man from Ceará started to stay in touch with his cousin’s adoptive family and they set up a meeting. In the post, Jean says he is “very happy to provide this moment” for his aunt.

Now the young man and Dona Neide are in Europe for the long-awaited meeting. They traveled to the mainland last Monday (13) and landed first in Rome, Italy.

After the visit to the Italian capital, the two will go next Sunday (18) to Paris, France, where they will finally meet the Frenchwoman.
