The food multinational Nestlé announced yesterday the acquisition of the company of products aimed at nutrition Puravida.
Founded in 2015 by Flávio Passos — who joined Adrian Francisco, partner and CEO of the company —, the brand sells natural and plant-based foods, as well as food supplements from the clean label segment — developed with natural ingredients.
According to the founders, the company recorded in 2021 a revenue of R$ 295 million. The number represents a growth of 42% in relation to the previous year.
Puravida’s products complement the menu of oral supplements, protein powders and nutritional drinks that are already part of the portfolio of Nestlé Health Science, a division of the company that closed the agreement to acquire the Brazilian brand.
The purchase of Puravida by Nestlé — which did not reveal the amount disbursed in the operation — will be submitted to the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (Cade). The approval is expected by the companies for the second half of this year. The information is from the newspaper. The State of São Paulo.
