The fund industry recorded net redemptions of BRL 162.9 billion in 2022, down 139.5% compared to the positive balance of BRL 412.5 billion in 2021, according to data released this Thursday (5) by the Brazilian Association of Financial and Capital Market Entities (Anbima).
The sector’s equity reached BRL 7.4 trillion in 2022, which represents an increase of 7.1% compared to the previous year (BRL 6.9 trillion).
The class with the largest outflow of funds was multimarkets, with net redemptions of BRL 87.6 billion in 2022, followed by equity funds (net redemptions of BRL 70.4 billion) and fixed income (net redemptions of BRL 48 .9 billion).
On the positive side, credit rights investment funds (FIDCs) had a net inflow of R$ 12.6 billion in 2022, followed by index funds (ETFs), which ended the year with a balance of R$ $366.3 million.
