Netanyahu describes Trump’s plans for Gaza as “revolutionary vision”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the US President Donald Trump’s plan to take control of the Gaza Strip is a “revolutionary and creative view.”

During a cabinet meeting on Sunday (9), Netanyahu said his visit to the United States and the discussions he had with the US president “carry great additional achievements that can ensure Israel’s safety for generations.”

At a joint press conference with Netanyahu last week, Trump announced an idea for the United States to take control of Gaza and redesign it in a “Middle East Riviera.”

“President Trump came with a completely different view, much better for the state of Israel. A revolutionary and creative view – and we are discussing that, ”Netanyahu told his office. “He is very determined to implement it. This also opens many possibilities for us, ”he added.

Trump’s comments break with decades of US foreign policy, which have long emphasized a two -state solution to Israel and Palestine, as well as avoid the country’s intervention in the Middle East. The plan triggered a huge reaction, with leaders around the world rejecting the proposal and saying that it is impractical and illegal.
