Netanyahu talked to Trump about duties

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu talked to US President Donald Trump about his new tariff policy, two high -ranking Israeli officials said today as Israel seeks to minimize the impact of the US. As part of the new sweeping tariff policy announced by Trump, unspecified exports of Israeli goods to the United States are facing a 17%duty. The US is Israel’s closest ally and its largest trading partner. Netanyahu raised the issue in his telephone communication with Trump that took place on Thursday, Israeli officials said while on a visit to Hungary. “Most of it can be resolved,” said one of the senior officials. An Israeli Treasury official said yesterday that Trump’s latest tariff announcement could affect Israel’s exports and medical equipment.
