Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is trying to arrange a meeting with US President Donald Trump in Washington, his spokesman Omer Dostri told CNN on Saturday (25).

Dostri said the meeting will “probably” take place in two weeks, but plans remain in development and it is not yet a “done deal.”

The potential meeting comes after Israel and Hamas reached a hostage ceasefire agreement, for which both Trump and former US President Joe Biden claimed credit.

Following the release of four female soldiers from captivity on Saturday, the Hostages and Missing Families Forum thanked Trump, saying his “intervention was critical to changing the trajectory of these negotiations.”

Netanyahu on Trump’s mandate
