Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said today that the military had dealt Lebanon’s Hezbollah “a series of blows it never imagined” after a night of fierce cross-border firefights and a strike against Beirut on Friday. “In the last few days, we have dealt Hezbollah a series of blows that it would never have imagined. If Hezbollah didn’t get the message, I promise you, they will,” Netanyahu added, according to a press release issued by his office. “We are determined to ensure that residents in the north can return to their homes safely.
