THE Netflix announced this Thursday (10), the cast of the next Brazilian series on the platform, “Todo Dia a Mesma Noite”, inspired by the real story of the fire of the Kiss nightclub.
With a premiere scheduled for 2023, when the tragedy will complete 10 years, the five-episode production will have the participation of actors Paulo Gorgulho, Bianca Byington, Leonardo Medeiros and Debora Lamm.
“It is a great responsibility to tell a fictional story inspired by a real event that destroyed the lives of so many people and shocked the country. We want to give light, in the most sensitive and honorable way possible, to the perspective of those who lived it all up close, and are still living”, said the general director Julia Rezende, in the press release.
The series has the advice of journalist and writer Daniela Arbex, author of the book “Todo Dia a Same Noite: A História Não Contada da Boate Kiss”, which inspired the production.
In December, four people were sentenced for the disaster, which killed 242 people and left 636 injured in the city of Santa Maria, in Rio Grande do Sul. After a fireworks show, flames reached part of the ceiling and spread through the nightclub, causing a lot of toxic smoke.
