Netflix announces the premiere of the fourth and penultimate season of Stranger Things

Netflix released this Thursday (17) the first posters and the premiere date of the next season of Stranger Things, one of the most viewed series on the platform. On May 27, fans will be able to discover the unfolding of matters that were left unresolved in Season 3, released in 2019.

Viewers have waited almost two years for new episodes, and will have to remain patient: the season will be released in two parts, the first on the aforementioned date, and the second on July 1. The strategy is being adopted as the new stretch will be almost twice as long as the previous seasons.

On social media, Netflix released a letter written by series creators Matt and Ross Duffer, talking about the production of the new chapters. “Stranger Things 4 was the hardest season to do, and also the most rewarding. The team is super proud and we look forward to sharing it all with you.”

According to the streaming service, this will be the penultimate season of the series. “Seven years ago, we planned the complete plot of Stranger Things. At that time, our idea was for the show to have between four and five seasons. We couldn’t fit it all into four seasons, but as you’ll see, the story is coming to an end,” wrote the Duffer brothers.

The new posters bring revelations about the future of the story. Scenarios such as the laboratory shown at the beginning of the series and Russia were shown, which could give fans clues about the characters’ paths. In all the images, the characters walk in the same direction, and there is the phrase “Every end has a beginning”.

The children’s cast, who gained celebrity status due to the production, are expected to return with a more teen look. One of the difficulties faced in filming the series was the Covid-19 pandemic, which delayed the release and left the actors looking closer to young adults than children.

Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhart, Sadie Sink, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin and Noah Schnapp, members of the main cast, released the announcement on their social media.
