Before becoming president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky was a successful actor and comedian.
now the Netflix is again airing the TV series that helped make him a star – and served as a springboard for his presidential campaign.
Available on the streaming platform between May 2017 and March 2021, Netflix decided to buy the rights again, due to the new interest in the story.
All 24 episodes of the first season are now available in some regions, including the United States, Canada, Australia, India and European countries.
“Servant of the People” is a political satire that features Zelensky as a high school teacher who becomes the Ukrainian president after a speech he makes about corruption in the country’s government goes viral.
The series premiered in 2015 and ran for three seasons, until Zelensky decided to run for the presidency of Ukraine in 2019, with a new party, also called Servant of the People. Some believe the role helped catapult Zelensky into the presidency.
