Netflix releases premiere date for series inspired by the Kiss nightclub fire

Netflix released this Monday (9) the official trailer and premiere date for the series “Every Day the Same Night”, inspired by the true story of the fire at the Kiss nightclub, in 2013. January 25th.

The Kiss nightclub fire occurred in January 2013, in the city of Santa Maria, in Rio Grande do Sul. The tragedy left 242 dead and 636 injured.

With general direction by Julia Rezende, direction by Carol Minêm and script by Gustavo Lipsztein, the series, which will have 5 episodes, will address the fight for justice of the relatives of the victims of the fire.

“It’s a huge responsibility to tell a fictional story inspired by a real event that destroyed the lives of so many people and shocked the country. We want to shed light, in the most sensitive and honorable way possible, on the perspective of those who lived through all of this up close and are still alive”, says general director Julia Rezende.

On December 10, 2021, the partners of the nightclub, Elissandro Callegaro Spohr and Mauro Londero Hoffmann, the lead singer of Banda Gurizada Fandangueira, Marcelo de Jesus dos Santos, and the music producer Luciano Bonilha Leão were convicted in the trial of the fire, almost nine years after the tragedy.

However, on August 3, 2022, the four convicts were released after the Court of Justice of Rio Grande do Sul (TJ-RS) annulled the judgment made by the Jury Court in 2021.
