If you, like us, grew up in the nineties, you will agree that Matilda by Danny DeVito is one of those treasured and beautiful memories of our childhood. Therefore, as soon as we learned that Netflix would release a reboot of the story, our inner child could not help but jump for joy, nor wait anxiously for the day of its premiere.
Four months ago, the giant of streaming gave us the first official trailer for the upcoming film adaptation of Roald Dahl’s Matilda: The Musicalleaving us counting down the days until December 25, the date on which the movie will be available on the platform, Arrive as soon as possible to make this year’s Christmas even more amazing.
Fortunately, now that the date is getting closer, once again Netflix delights us with a second teaser as incredible as the first, but that reveals new details of what we can see in Roald Dahl’s Matilda: The Musical.
Adapted not from Dahl’s original text, but from Tim Minchin and Dennis Kelly’s Olivier-winning stage musical, according to the official synopsis, Matilda tells the story of an unusual girl with exquisite cunning and an overflowing imagination who sets out to change her own history with miraculous results.

As previously reported, Oscar winner Emma Thompson plays the role of Miss Tronchatoro, along with Lashana Lynch who plays Miss Honey, as well as Alisha Weir in the title role. Stephen Graham stars as Mr. Wormwood, Andrea Riseborough as Mrs. Wormwood, and Sindhu Vee as Mrs. Phelps.
Roald Dahl’s Matilda: The Musical is directed by Matthew Warchus (Matilda the Musical), a Tony Award winner, and produced by Eric Fellner, Tim Bevan and Jon Finn (billy elliot). Additionally, writer Dennis Kelly was responsible for adapting the Royal Shakespeare Company production for the screen, with original music and lyrics by Tim Minchin.
