“Dear Readers,” as the endearing Lady Whistledown calls those who read her gossip column on the hit Netflix series BridgertonApparently, the production of the historical romance drama that we like so much already has the prequel ready, which will tell more details about the life of Queen Charlotte, the most faithful follower of the voice in off which tells the stories based on the novels by Julia Quinn.
At least that is what Netflix reported after sharing, on February 14, the trailer that shows the first images of the spin-offwhere the American director and producer Shonda Rhimes narrates the life of Queen Charlotte, a story that marked the beginning and origin of the character in the series who, like us, loves gossip.
Under the title Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Storyhe teaser shows two time lines, one with our favorite queen that we met and saw in Bridgerton and another that shows the romance of the monarch of the United Kingdom in his youth with King George, as well as the origin of his friendship with Lady Danbury and Lady Violet Bridgerton.
This prequel, which hopes to have the same reception as the original production, promises to tell more details, secrets of the queen’s life, as well as her love affairs and everything that involves her with British high society, so it focuses on the rise and the popularity that Charlotte was gaining, who, in addition to her love story, tells how the traditions under which the Bridgerton characters are governed were created.
At the first glance we could see some of the actors that will be part of this spin-offincluding the participation of Golda Rosheuvel, Adjoa Andoh and Ruth Gemmell, who reprise their roles as Bridgerton. Similarly, it will feature the interpretation of Corey Mylchreest as King George in his youth, Sam Clemmett as the servant Brimsley and Princess Augusta played by Michelle Fairley.
Despite not having more details about this production, the plot will take place some time before Charlotte becomes queen and meets King George, whom she does not want to marry at first, because not knowing the idea of becoming his wife seems to dislike him.
The announcement of the premiere of Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story It caused a stir and euphoria among fans, since it will debut a month after the release of the third installment of chapters of the original series.
The miniseries that will consist of only six chapters will premiere on the Netflix platform on May 4, 2023, a story that promises to tell us more about that fun queen who caused intrigue and became popular to the point of stealing the hearts of fans for being a good woman.
