Netgear today announced the Insight Managed WiFi 6 AX3600 Dual-band Multi-gig Access Point (WAX620). This WiFi 6 (802.11ax) dual-band access point is targeted at small and medium-sized businesses. It supports up to 256 users, 70 of which can work simultaneously.

The WAX620 is said to deliver up to 40% faster connection speeds for each connected device over WiFi 5 (802.11ac) hotspots. The WAX620 AP can be used with other Netgear Insight Managed APs, including WiFi 5 (WAC 510, WAC 540) and WiFi 6 (WAX 610, WAX610Y) models. In addition, the WAX 620 allows access points to be connected to each other in a mesh topology using Instant Mesh technology. In terms of wired connectivity, the WAX 620 has a 2.5 GbE port that supports Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) technology.
The manufacturer considers the advantages of the WAX620 to support WPA3 encryption with keys of 128 and 192 bits, as well as the ability to configure VLANs and up to eight different SSIDs. Operating in a 4×4 configuration, the device is capable of providing an aggregate throughput of 3.6 Gbps in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands.
