The Dutch authorities have “frozen” or confiscated assets of more than 200 million euros, which belong to individuals or companies that have been sanctioned due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, as announced yesterday, the governor of the Dutch central bank.
Klaus Knot announced the above data in an interview he gave on a Dutch television show.
On Tuesday, the finance minister had informed parliament that the Netherlands had seized assets of just 6m euros by 24 February.
“I can tell you that in the meantime we have frozen or confiscated more than 200 million euros; and I estimate that they will increase further,” said the Dutch central banker, adding that “we had some difficulties in the beginning.”
