The Dutch airline KLM cancels up to 50 flights a day during this weekend, which follows the 6th of June, which is a national holiday in the Netherlands, the company announced today.
Cancellations will also include today flights as well as Mondays.
Passengers on the affected flights will be re-booked on other flights, added the Dutch arm of the Air France-KLM group of airlines.
“KLM has also booked seats on some flights, so that passengers who do not fly or are transported due to crowds at the airport can depart later in the day,” the airline said in a statement.
Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport, Europe’s third busiest airport, is overcrowded due to a lack of security personnel.
