Three people were killed and many injured, including children, when a truck plowed into people attending an outdoor barbecue in the southern Dutch city of Noye Beijerland, local police said.
“At some point a truck veered off the road and crashed into people who were partying,” police spokeswoman Elian Mastwijk told local TV channel Rijnmond.
The Dutch authorities, however, clarified that it is not a terrorist act but an incident in which the truck driver lost control.
In a state of shock, the driver gave the insurance while the vehicle belonged to a Spanish transport company.
The exact number of injured is not yet known.
