The UN Middle East Peace Envoy, Tor Wensland, briefed the Security Council on developments regarding the situation on the ground, as well as the ongoing efforts by the UN to secure a ceasefire. Speaking to the Security Council, Mr. Wensland said Israel is conducting a major ground operation in and around Rafah, the destruction is intensifying, and urged the parties to return to the negotiating table immediately and with good intentions.
