Turkish police today made 44 new arrests in the context of a “corruption” investigation that led, at the end of March, to the imprisonment of Constantinople’s opposition mayor Ekrem Imamoglou, the state -run news agency Anadolu reported. Among those arrested is the special mayor, Cadrigie Kasapoglou, and the chairments of the Board of two companies linked to the Municipality of Constantinople. Another twenty officials of the Municipality, including the press responsible for the press, were arrested on Tuesday, May 20, in the same research.
