Brazil registered a record number of 1.4 million companies opened between May and August 2021, according to the Business Map Bulletin of the Ministry of Economy, which considers a historical series started in 2011. The number represents an increase of 1.9 % compared to the previous four-month period, and 26.5% compared to the same period last year.
In the state of São Paulo, the scenario is also positive. From January to October this year, 236,000 new developments were registered. The result of these 10 months is already greater than the previous annual record of 2019. The isolated result of October is the best for the month in the historical series started in 1998.
The state of Acre was the one with the highest percentage growth of companies open between May and August this year, with an increase of 26.6% compared to the same period last year. On the other hand, the state of Sergipe registered the biggest drop: 2.8% compared to the first four months of 2021.
