Toyota presented an updated Camry for Russia and officially announced the start of orders. The cost of the restyled sedan starts from 1,880,500 rubles. In the US, the Toyota Camry debuted in the summer of 2020. The car hit the Russian market only on March 25, 2021.
The basic version of the sedan is known to be powered by the new 2.0-liter four-cylinder M20A-FKS petrol engine, which replaced the 6AR-FSE. The power remains the same: the engine produces 150 horsepower, but the torque has been increased to 206 Nm. The new engine allows the sedan to accelerate to 100 km / h in 8.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 220 km / h. A pleasant bonus for Russians will be a decrease in fuel consumption by 1.2 liters (6.8 liters per 100 kilometers). In addition, the Japanese manufacturer got rid of the six-speed automatic. Instead, the Camry will now have a V-belt variator.
As for the appearance, the updated Toyota Camry for Russia received the same changes as the American version. The first thing that catches your eye is a new grille in the bumper, which has received a chrome frame, and a new design of the wheels, which are now 17 inches in diameter. The rear part of the body has not been modified, but the manufacturer has expanded the color gamut: now blue and red metallics are also available.
The interior of the Toyota Camry also received innovations, the most notable of which is the media system display: it is now located above the center ventilation vents. The multimedia complex supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto interfaces. For the Russian version, the optional Safety Sense complex has been modified. The new automatic braking system is able to recognize pedestrians not only in front, but also at an intersection during a turn.

Naturally, the new engines and extended functionality of the Toyota Camry became the reason for the rise in price. So, the cost of the updated version increased from 1,851,500 to 1,880,500 rubles. The Toyota Camry version with a 2.5-liter engine will cost Russians 2,151,000 rubles. And for a 3.5-liter engine you will have to pay more than 2,400,000 rubles.
