Turkish provocation is steadily escalating, with Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay openly threatening Greece with the demilitarization of islands or questioning their sovereignty “and wherever it goes.”
As SKAI correspondent in Turkey Manolis Kostidis reported, in an interview with Milliyet, he says that Ankara has been patient for 100 years since the Treaty of Lausanne and that either Athens will back down, or there is prehistory in early 20th century (Asia Minor Catastrophe) but also the recent one as in Cyprus.
Erdogan’s vice president spoke specifically about Kastelorizo, saying that Greece is militarizing islands “under our noses and this is threatening for us, we will not tolerate it and there is no way Turkey will not respond”.
